Hempurizer+:
nature’s answer to PFAS pollution

Forever chemicals like PFAS are among the most persistent pollutants in our environment. They contaminate soil, resist breakdown, and pose serious risks to ecosystems and human health. At Bertels B.V., we believe the solution lies not in synthetic fixes—but in nature itself.

That’s why we’ve partnered with C-Biotech, part of the Cordeel Group, to co-develop Hempurizer+: a groundbreaking biostimulant designed to accelerate PFAS removal using industrial hemp.

The problem: PFAS in our soil

PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are synthetic compounds used in countless industrial and consumer products. Once released into the environment, they linger for decades, earning the nickname “forever chemicals.” Traditional remediation methods are costly, slow, and often ineffective.

The breakthrough: Hempurizer+ and phytoremediation

Industrial hemp has a natural ability to extract contaminants from soil—a process known as phytoremediation. But PFAS are notoriously difficult to absorb. That’s where Hempurizer+ comes in.

This innovative stimulant enhances the bioavailability of PFAS, enabling hemp to remove contamination up to 30 times faster. It’s a fusion of biological science, soil technology, and plant-based remediation—developed in close collaboration with C-Biotech’s visionary team.

A joint innovation journey

C-Biotech approached Bertels B.V. with a bold idea: could we help develop a product that empowers hemp to clean up PFAS-contaminated land more efficiently? Together, we turned that idea into Hempurizer+—a product that’s now ready to make a real impact.
