At Bertels, we see it as both our responsibility and our passion to help restore those footprints wherever possible. With our extensive experience in plant physiology, microbiology, and organic degradation processes, we know how organic components can be converted into valuable nutrients for plants. Using that same knowledge, we began studying organic soil pollutants. What we found is that many of these compounds can serve as a food source for specific bacteria. That’s why we cultivate bacterial strains — tailored to the type of contamination — that use these substances as their primary nutrient source. In this way, pollutants are naturally broken down and converted into CO₂ and water, allowing the soil to gradually recover and come back to life.
